Sure, it's already done (but only for automated/smoke testing). I am not sure wy I only enabled for smokes, but I think it was because I wanted to stop all the not-so-useful FAIL reports from systems wihtout GTK and did not want to risk breaking the build for users.
I do not have objections to enabling the check for all users. Care to submit a patch to Build.PL to enable the check for all users that answer "yes" to building wxWidgets?
