Hi,

The latest released versions of wxWidgets ( 2.9.4 ) and Wx ( 0.9913 ) will work on both Ubuntu 10.10 and Mint 13.

To build yourself the instructions for Ubuntu 12.04 can be followed from

http://wiki.wxperl.info/w/index.php/Ubuntu_LTS_12_Notes

Just miss out trying to install libwebkitgtk as the version is too old on Ubuntu 10.10

For an easier life may I suggest using a binary Perl dist such as

http://www.citrusperl.com

or ActivePerl using the PPM repositories at

http://www.wxperl.co.uk/repo29.

For the binary distributions I think the only additional dependency you need would be the freeglut runtime package which you can apt-get install.

Regards

Mark

Hello all:

I am new to the list, so if this is not in the proper format, please let me
know.

Environment: I am running Ubuntu 10.10 with:
                                         Perl 5.10.1
                                         wxWidgets 2.8.11
                                         wxPerl .9702
(All loaded via the Ubuntu Software
Center)

I know these versions are dated at this point. I don't plan to upgrade to
Ubuntu 11 or 12. Probably will move to Linux Mint 13 next. ( I like the
gnome look and feel)

Questions: What are the newest versions that will run on Ubuntu 10.10? And
later on Mint 13?
Are there instructions for downloading and installing these
versions?

Thanks, James
