Hi Guys,

I'm sorry not to be writing on utf8 (although, of course someone may see a
connection).

I've pretty much decided that I can't set up printers easily with wxWidgets,
nor can I force things like HPLIP to work properly on HP printers, Cannon on
Cannon etc. For instance I recently had an HP printer attached and I could
only print, a) By installing HPLIP (OK, I can pre-install this on each
implementation), and b) With a pdf file generated from WxPdfDoc through
Okular, not with the normal print button.

So I'll probably create a Wx::Wizard to take the user through a number of
steps to set up a printer as the default printer.

I could replace all print previews with an Okular call, but the issue here
is that on Windows it works as a Modal interface (nice), but on Linux it
doesn't.

Does anyone out there have a way to set up users printers remotely for them,
without calling the IT department?

Regards

Steve
