Thanks for this.  If I make some patches, would you be able to test it?

I've put some draft new code below (untested). It goes in wxPerl/XS/ProcessDialog.xs, at the end of the file. You can update the file and then "cd xPerl" "make" "make install".

I am travelling at the moment, but as soon as I can I'll make the changes on github. If you can test the changes, then we'll try to get them uploaded as soon as we can.
