Actually, I am using eclipse X10DT, which hides the compilation options from 
me. Poking around in the eclipse internal files with grep and vi, I found an 
xml file that stated g++ options and I added -DDYNAMIC to these. There was no 
apparent change, but of course I am not sure whether the compilation process 
looks at this xml file before doing the build (or whether it takes the 
compilation options from elsewhere).

I didn't find an eclipse menu which allowed me to see and change the compiler 
options.

What is this option doing ?
