Vijay,
Thanks for your response.
I am currently designing to develop application tools to find predictive
signals for an event under interest. To do that, I like to collect data from
various sources such as, news, blogs, social media, etc.
To start with, I am currently using R software with some extension to C and
C++. But R software may be slower to deal with large volume of data. That is
why, I am exploring the other possibilities.
May I request you to give me some inputs on this please?
Once again, thank you very much for the time you have given.
Regards,Deb

Thanks for your query. I am not aware of any such work, but lets see if anyone
on the list responds.
Have you thought through what you want to do in more detail. For example, what
text will you be mining. If you are using twitter feeds, you may want to look
at gnip readers. You should be able to get straightforward X10 / Java bindings
for those readers in X10 2.3.
A multi-node Map Shuffle Reduce engine is not too difficult to write in X10, at
least to get something running. This should let you get started with a few
weeks of effort (if you have experience developing reasonably sized Java apps,
and an understanding of X10 constructs).
Also take a look at the X10 Global Matrix Library --
http://x10-lang.org/documentation/code-examples/global-matrix-library.html This
can be used to write many analytical codes, as discussed in the examples.
Best,
Vijay

Hi x10-users,
Thanks in advance.
I am interested to develop some applications related to Web Scraping and Text
Mining.
Is there any development on Web Scraping and Text Mining using x10?
May I request you to provide me some information on it please?
Once again, thank you very much for the time you have given.
Regards,
Deb
