Hello, I am trying to install Gnome in a Macbook Pro running Yosemite. The machine is new without any modifications. I am a long time Fink user but I decided to give MacPorts a try. So, I installed the Developer Tools, the latest XQuartz release, MacPorts for Yosemite, and I applied all the configuration steps. With this setup, I installed Gnome using MacPorts. Everything went smoothly. Then, I followed the instructions from this page https://trac.macports.org/wiki/GNOME and I created the ~/.xinitrc.d/90-gnome.sh script to launch Gnome. But it does not work. If I execute the script, I see the X11.app bouncing in the Dock, then quitting, then starting again to bounce with no end. Only a logout can stop it. Can anyone describe the steps to configure and run Gnome, once it is installed through MacPorts? Thanks!Pierre
