The post-install script for XQuartz should have setup the symlink. If it

Here is what I found in /var/log/install.log:

Oct 3 14:20:15 mcostabel installd[333]: PackageKit: Executing script "./postinstall" in /private/tmp/PKInstallSandbox.USYQsX/Scripts/org.macosforge.xquartz.pkg.ruHZfT Oct 3 14:20:15 mcostabel installd[333]: ./postinstall: cat: /etc/sshd_config: No such file or directory Oct 3 14:20:15 mcostabel installd[333]: ./postinstall: cat: /etc/ssh_config: No such file or directory Oct 3 14:20:15 mcostabel installd[333]: ./postinstall: font_cache is already running with PID 0. Oct 3 14:20:15 mcostabel installd[333]: ./postinstall: If you believe this to be erroneous, please remove /opt/X11/var/run/font_cache.lock. Oct 3 14:20:15 mcostabel installd[333]: ./postinstall: ln: /usr/X11R6: Operation not permitted

Whether the stubs were present before the install is hard to tell postmortem.
