That's an ancient way to specify a local UNIX socket instead of a hostname.
As the xauth command is built by the sshd (cf. XauthLocation in
sshd_config(5)), as is the socket it's trying to add, I think you need to
look into how the FreeBSD sshd is building the xauth command.
