No, that won't help. Please start sshd manually on the server, I assume it's 128.149.23.102: ssh 128.149.23.102 /usr/sbin/sshd -ddd -p 18935 The client must be able to connect to the server/port, so please make sure that's possible. For instance by avoiding the firewall via an SSH tunnel as proposed by Stefan in an earlier mail (though his command was wrong): In another shell, run this command: ssh -L18935:128.149.23.102:18935 128.149.23.102 Then point the client to connect to 127.0.0.1:18935 Try to connect and post the *SSH server* debug output you should now have gathered in the first shell.
