Messed with the server a bit, since it's headless, I can't tell if audio
is working locally or not (that and the fact that it's 21 miles from where
I am), but what I'm getting when I use x2go to connect to Ubuntu 15.04 using
the Mate desktop, the volume control is gone, and if I bring one up, it says
it's waiting to connect to pulseaudio and waits forever.

I do not know if this is because I'm accessing with x2go or it's just
broken on the server. My workstation with 15.04 is working fine locally.

I've reinstalled pulseaudio and alsa-base, and done a force-reload with
alsa, it gives no errors.

I installed the x2go software from the nightly build, no change in
behavior. Strangely, when I tried to install with apt-get a bunch of
stuff was held back, but synaptic installed it.

I'm burned out for the night, need sleep, passing out between commands.

I tested the X2Go client from a Ubuntu 15.04 work station to other servers, sound works fine on the client, it is on the server side that it's
broken, and I think that's because of my kernel. During the update I saw
some modules that were sound related fail to load. I have a 4.0.0 kernel
where the Ubuntu ships with 3.19.0. I'll undo that in a bit and see if it
fixes sound on the server, but X2Go client is working fine, sound included,
on Ubuntu 15.04.

It's actually a client problem, I think.

If 15.05 ships libpulse-6 and you're using the release build of X2Go Client,
that's broken.

As a workaround, please try the nightly builds.
