Ah, ok. The TigerVNC maintainers in Debian have found a way to handle that: https://salsa.debian.org/debian-remote-team/tigervnc/tree/master/debianEspecially for TigerVNC, the xorg-server-source package [1] got introduced (available since jessie).
We need to make sure that x2godrive builds against all those versions. The TigerVNC people have various patches against the different xorg-server(-source) versions to make that happen.
