Hi Robert, Nomachine claims to work with it (I tried and it does - ish), and in fact Cinnamon is also in x2go list to choose. Cinnamon support is also in latest changelog, so I suppose there must be a way.
Btw I have also Mate and it did exactly the same, however I enabled desktop sharing from cinnamon, so that might be the reason. I come from xrdp madness, so I know a bit the issue with cinnamon and not mate.
