Client side printing does not work on my x2goserver.

We have received several feedbacks on breakage of the printing functionality.

One feedback maintained that CUPS overmounts /tmp with CUPS version from Debian jessie [1].

Unfortunately, I have not had time and priority to track this down any further (and neither did anyone else of the devs seemingly).

When looking at the file /etc/cups/cups-x2go.conf I am wondering whether I
need the ssh keys only if the cupsserver resides on a different server as the
x2go server?

If X2Go Server and CUPS server are hosted on the same machine, then nothing needs to done. Printing should work out-of-the box, once you have the Virtual X2Go Printer set up in CUPS.

If CUPS server and X2Go Server(s) is/are hosted on different machines, then you need to deploy public SSH keys so that x2goprint@CUPS-Server can connect to x2goprint@x2goserver (AFAIR).

Greets,
Mike
