As far as we know, support for GLX 1.4 (rather than GLX 1.2) and support for RandR 1.4 (rather than RandR 1.2)[1] in nx-libs 3.6.x will fix kde5.
Hopefully kde5 doesn't require the composite extension also like GNOME3 does.
