Hi Olaf, you might want to consider switching to our new X2Go-TCE (also works via PXE/TFTP, if desired, but doesn't need NFS - instead it uses HTTP(S) or (T)FTP to load the required files into a ramdisk on the TC).
In my opinion, it is a lot more flexible and you could try to run a local desktop on the TC, with the Skype client or a Browser (there's a Skype4Web beta that supports video calls, as I've been told) as part of the image. Remote applications would be pulled in via Published Application Mode instead of delivering a full desktop. This is an area where we could also use some volunteer manpower or people forking over some cash for paid-for development tasks, but at least the groundwork is there - so even if you don't have the skills to get it set up yourself, it should be way cheaper than adding USB support to X2Go.
