Does it work when selecting a different session type, e.g. just a terminal/xterm?

Uli
I started with MATE as that was what was on the machine. Same effect, so I installed XFCE as that was used in some examples. I rebooted as well - though that's a very windows thing, but I wanted to make sure the environment was clean

It looks like there's hanging session - for whatever reason - that

session instead of resuming that non-working one?

    Uli

The exact same thing happens. I end up with multiple processes
using ps that have very similar signatures

My setup is an armbian server and a debian client. Both are up to
date with the latest releases of all software. I have just now installed the
latest distro versions of x2go

I configured my client to use XFCE and ensured xfce was installed
on the server

The server starts fine and I can connect from the client and get prompted
    for password.

I can see the session on the server using ps ax

      4504 ? Ss 0:00 bash -l -c echo

However no desktop shows on my client

Checking the server syslog I see

connect

    What should I do now?
