How to Apply namespace on Xeces DOM for Xalan XSLT

Hi,
   I have applied namespace to xerces DOM using setAttributeNS method and
re-parsed it.
   Now I was trying to do XSLT using xalan but I noticed set namespace
doesn't hold good
   during transformation.

   Can somebody please help me by pointing out missing link in the process.
