Thanks for the info. I did turn off precompiled header support for the debug build and then it compiled just fine. However, I think I will grab the 1.8 version frmo CVS.

You can try to download the current CVS version: it comes with the VC7
project files and the source is very close to a version that will be
released as Xalan 1.8 .

thanks for the information. I did have VS.NEt convert the project files
from vc6 format to vc.net format. Maybe the conversion got messed up
somehow.
btw. I am compiling xalan 1.7.
