These are known problems that have been fixed in CVS. You get the latest CVS nightly tarball: http://cvs.apache.org/snapshots/xml-xalan/ or, if you don't need the testXSLT executable, which is no longer supported anyway, you can simply use the -k option of gmake so the error is ignored. Dave
