How To appendChild

Hi, i need to append a Node from one XalanDocument to another XalanDocument,
I am trying this form:
1. import Node from XalanDocument 1.
2.appendChild Node from XalanDocument 1 to XalanDocument 2.

This is the best way to do that¿?
