Before i decided to become member of this mailing list i searched the internet for a solution to build Xalan / Xerces in VS.NET 2005 and did exactly all steps in the article link below, but Step 8 build fails: Error 5 error C2664: 'void XalanFileOutputStream::write(const UTF16Ch *,unsigned int)' : cannot convert parameter 1 from 'XMLCh [512]' to 'const UTF16Ch *' c:\dev\xml-xalan\c\src\xalanc\Utils\MsgCreator\ICUResHandler.cpp 89

Make sure you follow the steps to the letter. A better solution would be what David Bertoni suggests – download the latest greatest from SVN. The building issues have been solved in this version.
