In the property page for VS2008 I have treated the xalan lib as the xerces lib. And with the xerces lib it works. My Configuration Properties is like this: Configuration Properties/Linker/Input/Additional Properties: xerces-c_3D.lib Xalan-C_1D.lib crypt32.lib Configuration Properties/Linker/General/Additional Library Directories: C:\Dev\Samples\XMLxerces\lib;C:\Dev\Samples\XMLXalan\lib
