Helps to keep us honest. After doing a "mega-merge" such as this one we do
put a lot of effort into re-running known testcases. Running more tests
never hurts; there's always an execution path you didn't exercise and the
edge case you forgot to check for....
But since the merge fixup was still in progress, it wasn't all that
surprising that we saw some failures.

We think we've just found and fixed that one. The change may have fixed
other problems as well. Try it again with the current code...
