Arnaud, not sure if it's normal.  It's certainly not good.  Is this the
latest released version of XalanJ?

Without doing memory profiles in something like JProbe, it's very hard to
tell if this is an issue with FOP, an issue with some nasty stylesheets
(for instance, it's very hard to release document(...) trees), or an issue
with Xalan.

Hello,
I want to know if it's normal that the system based on xalan2(java) and fop
called by command line within php script and transforming xml files (50ko)
into pdf, consume 140 Mo of memory.
Because our host doesn't seem to be very happy ;)
