+ If you just try to run off the bin of the latest distribution (D10) Xalan 
+ doesn't work.  Problems include the absence of the output_xml.properties files 
+ and the SerializerToXML seems to have some problems too.  The problems don't 
+ stop there and rebuilding and pointing the classpath at the build/classes 
+ directory seems to be the only way to get it to work.
