I am using the DOM implementation of xerces 1.4.2 which supports DOM
Level 2 version 1.0.
Do I have to do some configuration for turning on the namespace support?

        Make sure you're using a DOM implementation which supports DOM
Level 2, and
        that namespace support is turned on.
