http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4586 Erroneous link paths in SimpleXPathAPI.dsp and SimpleXPathCAPI.dsp Summary: Erroneous link paths in SimpleXPathAPI.dsp and SimpleXPathCAPI.dsp Product: XalanC Version: 1.2.x Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows NT/2K Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: Other Component: XalanC AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I am trying to compile the Xalan C++ 1.2 samples from xml- xalan_20011101231715.tar.gz (the latest build) with MSVC6.0SP3 and the Dinkumware patches. Most of the samples compile. However, I get the following sort of error when I try to compile SimpleXPathAPI and SimpleXPathCAPI in Debug mode: --------------------------------------------------------- Linking... LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "..\..\..\..\..\..\xml- xerces\c\Build\Win32\VC6\Debug\xerces-c_1D.lib" Error executing link.exe. --------------------------------------------------------- I get an identical message when I try to compile these applications in Release mode (except that "Debug\xerces-c_1D.lib" is replaced by Release\xerces- c_1.lib". The problem lies in the LINK32 directives in the dsp files: ------------------------------------------ # ADD LINK32 ..\..\..\..\..\..\xml-xerces\c\Build\Win32\VC6\[Debug | Release] \xerces-c_1[D].lib ------------------------------------------ The solution: remove "..\..\" from the front of the link path. It's a very minor problem - and easily correctable with a text editor or Microsoft Visual Studio. However, I notice that the other Xalan C++ samples (e.g. CompileStylesheet) don't have this issue. Could someone who can edit the CVS (I can't) please correct the dsp files? Regards, Peter.
