Wierd! I thought we had caught most of these. Actually, this error is with the JAXP code itself which effectively lives in the xml-commons project; Xalan just uses that code as-is. Unfortunately the main developer on JAXP stuff is on vacation for this week, so we probably won't be able to sort this out until next week.
