I don't usually read the xalan-dev list.  In the past, Costin used to
inform me of things like this.

OK, it looks like the build.bat script adds xerces.jar to the classpath
and then runs ant manually by invoking "java ...
org.apache.tools.ant.Main".

This doesn't quite work for us.  We are trying to create a complete JAXP
implementation using Xalan as a component.  The way the build works is
using a top level Ant script calling into the Xalan build.xml file (with
the "compile" target).  I'm assuming that Gump builds work the same
way.  So how does Gump manage to build Xalan?
