Xalan 2_2 (d14) + Xerces 2.0 - howto?

Can anyone point me to any documentation on 'how to'
build xalan (xalan-j_2_2_d14 in particular) with
Xerces 2 rather than Xerces 1.4.x ??? Any pointer
would be much appreciated...
