Well, that's certainly a basic requirement. There's no guarantee of binary
compatibility between versions of gcc and various versions of the runtime
libraries. That's why we provide a source distribution and clearly
document the compiler and platform that we use to build the binaries we
distribute.
There's also the problem of certain Linux distributions (RedHat 7.0, 7.1,
72., etc.) using special versions of gcc that are not official releases.
You have to make sure that _all_ of your binaries have been built with the
same version of the compiler. If you're using a distribution that has one
of these non-standard gcc builds, it becomes very complicated, because
you'll need to rebuild everything from source code to ensure compatibility.

Please respond to
xalan-dev
hi all,
I'm really not an expert in c or xalan, but I had segfault
when I
compile my module and apache were compiled with different version of gcc
( 2 vs 3 ).
Hope it helps

My mother always used to tell me, "The early bird gets the worm."
The message seemed pretty clear to me: If you sleep late, you're
a lot less likely to be killed by a bird.
