I think that we should follow the "real usage" idea to have our priorities.
The most important usage - compiling once and running multiple times. Option ?n on XSLTC implements timing on such usage. (I think we should have ?n on XSLT). Second usage would be execution with precompiled *.xsl file. Timing on this usage is logically compatible with meaning of ?DIAG on XSLT. Third priority is timing of *.xsl file compilation time. We could also think about a profiling option which could give execution time on major components.
