http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=23423 Hard coded error messages cleanup ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-09-25 21:20 ------- I believe most of the hardcoded errors are developer safety-nets -- stuff which we Devoutly Hope the user will never, ever see. Some things may really not be worth translating. On the other hand, I'm reminded of a story a friend tells about a call to a help desk... "What's the error number?" "It doesn't have one." "That can't be; all our errors are supposed to have numbers... All right, what's the text?" "You're not going to laugh at me?" "I promise." "Beam Me Up, Scotty -- She's Sucking Mud Again." "... Somehow, I think I'd better transfer you to engineering." (Apparently this was a test message which had been inserted for a case they thought they had fixed, but they never got around to either making it official or removing it. Just as well they _didn't_ remove it, as it turned out...)
