Thanks for the input. I will download the spec and look into it. Currently I solved my problem by re-running the complete transformation and selectively discarding the output. While this gives me acceptable performance, I suspect that the XSL 2.0 implementation would be better. What kind of feedback / involvement are you looking for ??

XSLT 2.0 specifies that you can launch a transformation with more startup information, including the initial node and the name of a template to be executed first.
