I tried to verify xalan-j_2_4_1-bin.zip using xalan-j_2_4_1-bin.zip.sig,
but the PGP or GPG - key required for this is nowhere to be found.
I suggest there should be a link to some keys.asc file from
http://xml.apache.org/xalan-j/faq.html#faq-N10105
and also from the text that starts the directory listing
