Ari Miller commented on XALANJ-1974: ------------------------------------ I don't think that the new capabilities in XALANJ-2093 will solve this problem. The problem isn't what \n is normalized to on output, but instead is what happens to \r. I'm not convinced this is actually a bug in Xalan. As I mentioned: "Specifically, this might be an issue with org.apache.xerces.parsers.DOMParser, rather than xalan. I think the
 should be normalized to just
by xerces, when the Element is created (http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/REC-xml-20001006#sec-line-ends)." As to the inability to reproduce: You have three seperate users, myself, Peter, and Vaibhav, all seeing the same issue. All of us are running on Windows, and at least two of us were using xalan 2.6. A traditional definition of inability to reproduce would imply that you have attempted to replicate the problem with the attached files under the conditions described, specifically: 1. Windows (preferably XP). 2. Xalan Java 2.6.0. It wasn't clear to me from your comments whether you had attempted to replicate under the above conditions. I know you attempted to replicate using that latest Xalan source, but I don't know what OS you were using. The ideal solution would be to replicate the problem under the described conditions, if possible, then confirm it goes away with the latest Xalan source. Please clarify. I put a text like > 1 > 2 > and saves data. When I come back it is > 1 > 2 > I again saved data and came back it is > 1 > 2 > It seems that it is unable to parse #xd;#xa; (CR-LF) into #xa; (LF). So it > increases newline character everytime. I don't know why this problem arises > but when I was using older version of Xalan set it was 2.2.0 this was not > taking place. > Please do the needful. > Vaibhav -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
