The problem has been fixed to the best of my knowledge; it was a duplicate of XALANJ-2321. The fix for the problem will be part of the Xalan-J 2.7.1. That release was supposed to be available this past January, but has been delayed for some time due to resource constraints. In the meanwhile, you could extract the latest source code for Xalan-J and build it to pick up that fix along with many others that have been applied since Xalan-J 2.7.0 was released.
