Indeed, there have been a few patches applied to XSLTC to try avoid hitting the JVM method size limit of 64 kilobytes. There are still some cases that proved to be more difficult to fix. Are you using the open source version of the processor or the version included in the Sun Java run-time environment? Seeing the stack trace and a sample stylesheet would help us diagnose the problem, and perhaps suggest a work-around.
