Thanks Bertrand!

I'm glad you have been able to reform the Xalan PMC.

---------

I am willing to do my part at keeping the XALAN PMC alive. I wish to be an
active participant on the XALAN team.

My committer license agreement is signed and on file at ASF.

I am not an ASF member, but I am willing to participate as a member if
given the opportunity.

I've got a good start at preparing a documentation package for Xalan-C/C++
version 1.11 and the foundation is ready for review. I have a set of
document and website construction tools that can be used to support a new
deployment of Xalan-C/C++. I would like the documentation tools and
User-Guide web pages posted to a branch of the xalan/c repository. Then
as documents look good, they can be posted to the xalan/c/trunk.

I use the StyleBook XML markup for "Xalan-C/C++ User Guide version 1.11"
but do not use the StyleBook Java program. Instaead I have designed a
standard stylesheet that transforms StyleBook XML markup into usable
project web pages. Any compliant XSLT processor can be used to create the
User Guide web pages. I currently use the Xalan program that is packaged
with Xalan-C as the tool to create web pages from StyleBook XML markup.

I have many years of professional experience as a technical writer and
technical editor and publisher. I wish to use my talents in support of
the XALAN projects.

Since xalan-dev and xalan-c-users mail lists do not like attachments, I
can send attachments of web pages to individuals for review. I hope the
documentation work can soon can be committed to the xalan/c repository.

I monitor the xalan-dev and xalan-c-users groups. Let me know through
these groups if you wish to evaluate the Xalan-C/C++ User Guide
development work.

Sincerely,
Steven J. Hathaway

P.S.
I know that XPath2 and XSLT2 requires a significant code change.

I want to bring closure to XALAN-C 1.11 and provide documentation support
for XALAN-C 2.x.
