    The attached wordpad (rtf) document is a description of the Gregorian
    Calendar algorithm and how it can be factored for use in the
    Xalan-C EXSLT
    project.  Using a 400 year Gregorian Calendar Cycle for basis of
    computation makes relatively easy the date-range calculations.

    The Unix "cal" calendar program can also be used to validate new
    Gregorian
    calendar implementations.  The "cal" program implements the Gregorian
    Calendar algorithm for year range [1..5875706].
