Yes, if could be, though I wouldn't expect a stack overflow exception from it. There are some limits on number of nodes right now in the source tree (DTM). Joe, do you know the current limit off the top of your head? Otis, you can use the SAX2Count sample program in Xerces to test this theory. As an experiment, you might try using <xsl:strip-space elements="*"/> to reduce the overall number of nodes. I don't know if it will solve your short-term problem, but it might be worth trying. If it works, it will also increase your performance. -scott
