hi, i'm processing around 2GB input file.
xslt is a dom based tranformation language, in-memory dom is essential for xpath constructions to work. thus it is not scallable. stx is a sax based transformation language very simillar to xslt (http://stx.sourceforge.net). and it is scallable (size of input xml). you can use it for simple transformations (mainly if involve neighbouring tags only) or to divide the input on repeatable sub-transformations (processed with xslt, stx and few other ways). in my case i have a complex xslt transformation but my data is dividable i.e. composed of many simillar segments. so, i use stx to divide the data stream into atomic segments calling xslt for each one. there is a time constriants too, so i've submitted set of patches agains joost (http://joost.sourceforge.net) for doing distributed processing as well. fikin _____________________________________________ Free email with personality!
