I was hoping that the 2.7.1 release of Xalan-J would be out by now, but a member of the Xalan PMC has pointed out to me that the Apache infrastructure group has clarified some issues regarding releases at: http://www.apache.org/dev/release.html
The PMC will need to look at that page more carefully before the release is published. I know for sure that there is at least one thing on that page which we are in violation of. Also there have been some regressions with XSLTC that need to be addressed, and will be handled on xalan-dev rather than xalan-j-users. - Brian Minchau Apache Xalan PMC
