Note that if you have a size set on the verticalBoxPane this does not happen.
This is an artifact of how the component test is written.
1. The verticalBoxPane does not have a width set.
2. The verticalBoxPane children are all freePanes
3. When align=stretch the freePane widths are set to 100%
4. Because freePane is absolute with absolute children, it does not have an
intrinsic preferred size
5. Therefore both the verticalBoxPane and the freePanes end up at size zero.
Ideally this would not happen but it is hard to avoid. Mostly it is a freePane
issue. No matter what is inside a freePane the 'preferred size' of the freePane
is zero.
