I am working on adding IPv6 support to xastir. I've got the basics
working, but right now I am doing to the fork for hostname lookup.
Trying to pass the data back to another process complicates keeping
the lookup protocol neutral. If I can avoid the fork that would be
nice, if that is still desired I can work on keeping it in.

Jason,
Did you have a look at the patch I submitted ages ago. I didn't want to
mess too much with the existing code, so when I encountered that 'fork'
I stopped.
