did a checkout of Xastir into the FOOBIE directory when I issued it from
command line.
$ rpm -qa | grep cvs
cvs-1.12.12-169.4.1.x86_64
I tried it earlier by replacing ":ext:" with ":extssh:" in all the CVS/Root
files. Perhaps I should try a full checkout instead as I might have missed somewhere else it is
needed.

$ cvs -d :extssh:[email protected]:/cvsroot/xastir checkout -d
FOOBIE xastir
cvs checkout: Unknown method (`extssh') in CVSROOT.
cvs [checkout aborted]: Bad CVSROOT:
