Yes,
Map/Configure/Re-index all maps.
I've also done Map/Configure/Flush Entire Map Cache. I've also deleted
/.../.xastir/config/map_index.sys
I'm still working on that perl stuff.

There's an index file Xastir maintains which has the map extents in
it. Xastir uses that to skip maps quickly that don't fit on the
current view.
