I'm not very familiar with VirtualBox, but in VMware there is a shrink
utility for virtual disks (basically a defragmenter so you're not
packaging blocks of zeros). You'll want to run the VirtualBox
equivalent of this utility to minimize the distribution size.

I'd suggest using BitTorrent. This will allow you to distribute the
file in pieces that are verified with a hash (unlike something like
FTP that could pass errors).

Here's a generic tutorial on creating a torrent:
http://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Torrent. I hear uTorrent is popular
for Windows, so this tutorial may be more helpful:
http://www.utorrent.com/torrent.php.

When you're creating the torrent, use
http://northwest.aprs2.net/rivettracker/announce.php as the tracker
"announce" URL. This assigns my Tier 2 server as the coordinator for
the peer-to-peer exchange.

Once you have the torrent file created and running in your torrent
client, email the .torrent to me and I will add it on my server
software. I'll add it to the tracker software, to allow the
coordination, and also add it to rtorrent to help distribute the
bandwidth load.
