A while back I made a sugestion for a updated LSB version of xastir. I think
the last one released was early 2008. A newer one would be real handy. I still
use this on an older Ubuntu machine at times. Unless I am mistaken it gets
around the Graphics magic issues with raster maps on the Debian distros as well
. Currently we have to remove and then attempt to recompile GM or try Image
Magic and hope for the best. Its a complicated and involved process for some.
Considering I may not be hanging on to that install for very long then its a
real time waste going through that excercise. I often reload and start again
with different distros.
The LSB distro is a easy fast track to getting Xastir going and going well on a
few different machines now. Ive noticed more and more distros appearing now
awith LSB support as standard.
Just another push on the LSB front . Please .
Sorry Curt

Hi Tony,
I can't help with the LDB question but I only ever use Imagemagick with
Debian and Kubuntu and have never had an issue with raster maps since I
sorted myself out, hi. In the last three weeks I've installed twice to
Debian 4.08 and once to Kubuntu 8.04.
